SIDEWALKS TO BE INSTALLED ON SCHOOL ROUTES

OGDEN, Utah (October 17, 2005)—Sidewalks will be installed along school routes in several Ogden communities this fall. The sidewalk improvements stem from community plans completed over the last three years by local residents in the Horace Mann, Hillcrest-Bonneville, and Mountain View communities as well as the City Planning Commission and Planning staff.
Last summer, the Ogden City Council looked for ways to fund the capital improvements suggested in the community plans. Though money was not available to fund most of the improvements, the Council was able to set aside $50,000 for installation of sidewalks, primarily along school routes.

New sidewalks will be installed at the following locations:

1.South side of 15th Street from Lincoln Avenue to Grant Avenue.
2.West side of Eccles Avenue from 2nd Street to 125 South.
3.North side of 7th Street, east of Monroe Boulevard.
4.Intersection of 7th Street and Polk Avenue.
The Council commends citizens’ involvement in development of the community plans and encourages citizens to continue to voice their opinions in support of a better Ogden.
