OGDEN CITY COUNCIL SEEKS AT-LARGE SEAT A REPLACEMENT
OGDEN, Utah (August 31, 2006)—On August 31, 2006, Council Member Bill Glasmann resigned from the Ogden City Council (At-Large Seat A) to take a position with the Community and Economic Development Department in the Ogden City Administration. The remaining members of the Ogden City Council will appoint a replacement for At-Large Seat A within 30 days, according to the defined process for Council Member replacement in Utah State Law and Council Rules of Procedure. The replacement Council Member will serve the remainder of Mr. Glasmann’s term (until December 2009).
To qualify for the vacant Council position, applicants must:
• Be a registered voter,
• Have resided within Ogden City limits for 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the vacancy,
• Remain a resident of Ogden City throughout the term of office (December 2009).
Qualified applicants should submit a letter of interest and resume to the Ogden City Council Office by Monday, September 11, 2006 at 5:00PM (2549 Washington Blvd., Ste. 320, Ogden, UT 84401; citycouncil@ci.ogden.ut.us). Applicants are encouraged to utilize the letter of interest and resume to highlight their qualifications for the position. Note that all information submitted to the Council Office will be made part of the public record.
The Council will review the letters and resumes and select a replacement based on the
following schedule:

Wednesday, September 20, 2006, 5:00PM-7:00PM•
Special Council Meeting to conduct informal
discussions with applicants
• Closed Executive Session to narrow applicants to
five (5)
Wednesday, September 27, 2006, 5:00PM• Special Council Meeting to interview finalists
• Closed Executive Session to discuss finalists and
select appointee by majority vote
• City Recorder swears in new Council Member
