OGDEN, Utah (September 12, 2006)—The Ogden City Council Office has received 39 applications for the vacant At-Large Seat A position on the Ogden City Council. Attached is a list of the applicants and their contact information.
The Ogden City Council will now begin the process of reviewing applications. On Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at 5:00PM during a Special Council Meeting open to the public, the Council will interview each applicant. The following Wednesday, on September 27, 2006 at 5:00PM, the Council will interview five finalists, one of whom will be chosen to fill At-Large Seat A until the next municipal election (November 2007). The new Council Member will be sworn in by the City Recorder the same evening. Both meetings will take place in the Ogden City Council Chambers of the Municipal Building, 2549 Washington Blvd., Ste. 340.
Although there is no legal requirement, the Ogden City Council has chosen to conduct the above process as a means for selecting the new Council Member and as a courtesy to the applicants. The Council wants to ensure that each applicant has the same opportunity to address the Council.
